    Information on finding the right volunteer opportunity and making the most out of your volunteer activities can be crucial to making a real difference and having a rewarding experience. This resource helps volunteers explore how volunteerism can influence a career, volunteering with your family, and how to find the right agency and opportunity to match your interest. There are also links to resources to help you while you volunteer, how to find and prepare for an international volunteering experience, and what costs incurred by volunteering can be tax-deductable.     Born out of the Presidents' Summit for America's Future (summit on volunteerism and national service). Focused on how youth volunteerism and volunteerism FOR youth can improve communities, counter negative influences and empower young people.

    Not-for-profit organization promoting volunteerism, providing community service, encouraging collaboration, and improving cultural awareness in locations throughout the world. Programs offer a mix of community service and recreation which provide volunteers with the opportunity to participate first hand in the culture of the region where they are working. Past projects have included building a vocational training center for street children on the Amazon, building additional rooms onto a health clinic in the Bolivian Andes, and doing some historic preservation and environmental cleanup in the Greater Yellowstone Area. Volunteers need no special skills, just a willingness to help.

    Break Away: the Alternative Break Collection

    COOL (Campus Outreach Opportunity League)

Holds an annual conference attracting over 2,000 students, and its staff visit hundreds of college campuses giving workshops that encourage, promote and initiate programs that get students involved in service.
